Fernanda Gimenes is a sustainable finance and climate policy specialist with over 15 years of experience working at the interface of international organisations, financial institutions, and policy frameworks. Her work and research focus on the political and institutional dynamics shaping climate finance, with a focus on how policy frameworks, financial market governance, and blended finance instruments influence the mobilisation of private capital for climate and nature-positive outcomes.


Fernanda holds a PhD in Environmental Policy and Development from the London School of Economics, where her doctoral research examined the governance and political economy dimensions of climate finance.

She has held advisory and project leadership roles across the sustainable finance and climate policy landscape, including at the World Economic Forum, the UN Environment Programme, and the Brazilian Business Council for Sustainable Development. Over her career, she has led and supported initiatives that engage banks, insurers, and investors in advancing sustainable finance practices and in shaping innovative financial solutions to address climate and nature challenges.
