Building economic resilience amid uncertainty – lessons from the Polish experience

In-person public event: LSE Campus, London, UK
4.30-6pm, Monday 23 March

We are delighted to host Poland’s Minister of Finance and Economy, Andrzej Domański, in conversation with Robert Patalano, CETEx Executive Director and Professor in Practice, and the LSE community on building the resilience and competitiveness of the economy in the context of mounting geopolitical and transition risks.

Poland’s economic performance and robust growth in recent years have been remarkable. The country continues to maintain growth and competitiveness notwithstanding a complex set of pressures: the continued war in Ukraine, the need to decarbonise the economy, and the challenge of attracting the investment required to finance both the transition and technological transformation. At the same time, Poland’s experience of systemic economic transformation over the past three decades provides a distinctive vantage point from which to examine what transition requires — institutionally, fiscally, and politically — and what lessons may travel to other economies navigating similar challenges.
