Fernanda Gimenes is a sustainable finance and climate policy specialist with over 15 years of experience working at the interface of international organisations, financial institutions, and policy frameworks. Her work and research focus on the political and institutional dynamics shaping climate finance, with a focus on how policy frameworks, financial market governance, and blended finance instruments influence the mobilisation of private capital for climate and nature-positive outcomes.
Fernanda has recently completed her PhD in Environmental Policy and Development at the London School of Economics, having passed her viva and currently awaiting the formal award of the degree.
She currently works with the World Economic Forum’s Tropical Forest Alliance, where she provides technical and strategic advisory on innovative finance solutions to promote zero-deforestation supply chains in Latin America. She has previously held roles at the UN Environment Programme and the Brazilian Business Council for Sustainable Development, where she led projects engaging banks, insurers and investors in the transition to sustainable finance.
