Jahen is the Vice Director of Research at the Institute for Economic and Social Research, Universitas Indonesia (LPEM FEB UI), and an Assistant Professor at the Department of Economics, Universitas Indonesia. He is also the Editor-in-Chief at the Journal of Economics and Finance in Indonesia. His recent work explores the impact of the downstreaming policy at the firm and regional levels, the consequences of digital payment on demand for cash, green industrial policy, and the economic impact of geoeconomic fragmentation. Jahen’s work has been published in peer-reviewed academic journals, including the European Economic Review, Economics of Governance, Bulletin of Indonesian Economic Studies, Telecommunications Policy, Applied Health Economics and Health Policy, Journal of the Asia Pacific Economy, and Journal of Southeast Asian Economies. He also writes commentaries and op-eds for East Asia Forum and for Indonesian media such as Tempo and Kompas. Jahen earned his PhD in Economics from the University of York, UK.
