Sanjena is a Policy Fellow for India International at the Centre for Economic Transition Expertise (CETEx), LSE. Her work focuses on carbon markets and carbon pricing, the India–China nexus, as well as broader questions around mobilising fiscal revenue and expenditure for climate action in emerging market and developing economies (EMDEs).
Sanjena holds a master’s degree and PhD in Environmental Engineering from Tsinghua University, Beijing, China. Prior to joining LSE, she worked as a Consultant with NITI Aayog, the Government of India’s official think tank, in the Green Transition, Energy and Climate Change division, and with the United Nations. Before returning to India, she spent several years working on urban water resilience as part of China’s Sponge City programme.
