Joe is a Senior Policy Fellow with a particular focus on net zero central banking, environmental risks to labour markets and adaptation finance in emerging markets and developing economies (EMDEs). He leads CETEx’s EMDE workstream and its support for central banks in South Asia and Southern Africa.

Prior to joining the Grantham Research Institute, Joe was a Research Fellow in the Climate and Sustainability programme at ODI, where he led work on mobilising sustainable finance in emerging markets and developing economies. Joe has also completed financial due diligence for agricultural investors, and worked on the European Parliament’s Monetary and Economic Affairs Committee during the 2008 global financial crisis. He has a DPhil from the University of Oxford.
