Dr Laveesh Bhandari joins LSE and CETEx as Visiting Professor in Practice
We are pleased to announce that Dr Laveesh Bhandari has joined the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) and the Centre for Economic Transition Expertise (CETEx) as a Visiting Professor in Practice.
Dr Bhandari is an economist, entrepreneur and thought-leader in sustainable finance, with extensive experience in applied economic research and policy. He currently serves as President and Senior Fellow at the Centre for Social and Economic Progress (CSEP) in New Delhi. His work focuses on sustainable livelihoods, industrial and social reforms in India, economic geography and financial inclusion.
Dr Bhandari holds a PhD in Economics from Boston University; his dissertation was awarded the Best Thesis in International Economics. He has taught economics at Boston University and the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi. He has also served as the managing editor of the Journal of Emerging Market Finance .
In addition to his academic and policy research, Dr Bhandari has founded and led several ventures in the research, analytics, and digital domains, including Indicus Analytics, a leading economic research firm.
At LSE and CETEx, Dr Bhandari will contribute to research and policy engagement on inclusion, India’s energy transition, and their impacts on governance and the economy. His expertise will enhance our understanding of economic transformation in emerging economies.
