Benjamin Braun is assistant professor at the LSE, where he teaches political economy at the European Institute. Prior to that, Benjamin held a senior researcher position at the Max Planck Institute for the Study of Societies in Cologne. 

Benjamin is principal investigator (PI) of the DFG-funded research project ‘Central banking in hard times’, located at the HertieSchool, and co-PI of the Hewlett-funded project ‘New generators of inequality: Asset managers and private equity’, based at Brown University. His research focuses on the political economy of finance and the state, with research questions revolving around topics such as wealth inequality, the green transition, and monetary policy and inflation.
